Post for Maritime Anthropology Class

SURPRISE! this blog is really for one of my classes. :) At least, thats why I created it in the first place. It's fun to write about my job in it though. Sooo I'm supposed to write a "personal introduction".

*It's really scattered I kinda just wrote stuff about me as it came to my head*
note to Dr. Pearl.. I hope you are enjoing the foot ball game on your new TV.

Hello my name is Charlotte and I am the proudest member of the fighten' Texas aggie class of 2011. A-A-A WHOOP! (that was me attempting school spritit, yay for me).  I attend Texas A&M in Galveston and am majoring in Maritime Studies with a minor in Anthropology, and when I graduate I plan on attending Grad school for Anthropology or Nautical Archaeology.  I work part-time at a Movie Theatre while attending school and I really like my job, most days.  This semester I am taking 19 hours but so far I like all of my classes and am actually enjoing my proffesors. Even Dr. Willett.  I got 4 out of 5 on my last quiz with him and I consider that my highest achievement of this semester so far. You may think that is pathetic, but if you do you do not go to my school.

I am an active volunteer and sailing crew on the tall ship Elissa. She was a commerce sailing ship in 1877 and survives today at the Texas Seaport Museam.  I am in my second year there and although it does look good on a resume, I am still involved because I fell in love with her and the community that is involved with maintaing her.

My goals in life change every day, but right now I would love to go into the field of Nautical Archaeology and complete my work in the field in Bermuda.  Although I have made the decision to devote at least a year after I recieve my BA to mission work, whether it is through a school or with an organization.  Hopefully it will simultaniously teach me about working with different cultures which may give me an advantage in Grad School.

"So this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be." - Quote from Perks of Being a Wallflower.. my favourite book.
